color me rachel

about a week ago, zeinah, rachel, vanessa and i went to color me mine for rachel's birthday and painted mugs for her!

our table was soooo messy...

here is the mug i painted before it was "baked" or whatever its called.aaand here it is after! (it doesn't look that different, but that's alright.)

yesterday i had dinner with ashley smith, the woman who was held hostage by brain nichols...read about it or watch a video here.
(she looks waaay different now)

she was speaking at an event my dad was involved in, so my dad plus all these businessmen had dinner last night to get to know her, soooo i tagged along!

her sister, who was my age, was there too. her and ashley were both really sweet and southern and fun and open.

you might have seen her speak at saddleback about a year ago...but i heard her talk this morning. it was really really inspirational. her story is amaaaazing. she has a book, too, called unlikely angel i think.

aaaand they are making a movie about it. and ashley's sister gets to be in it!
and jennifer aniston might play ashley!

i felt like i had met a celebrity and an upcoming movie star when the night was over...

banquet cubed

i have three banquets coming up!

swim on sunday.
drama and the "distinguished mustang" awards* on monday.

clearly, i will have to pick one to go to on monday.
i've decided to go to the drama one.
fun drama people is twelve times better than a bunch of smart people.
am i right? (that is a rhetorical question, because i know i'm right.)

*my math teacher, who already made me student of the semester, nominated me for a geometry award, i guess. ohh, i am such a geek.

tonight at melinda heights is the play i did in 4th grade.
the trial of cinderella.
i was martha stewart in this play.
and melissa's little sister is carrying on my dynasty!

and enjoyed a bloomin' onion, a sandra-oh-look-alike waitress, and some kids meals.

colton stole the show, obviously.

alright, i know you're all D Y I N G to know all the little details from my birthday...

- for my family birthday, we had a dinner of fettuchine alfredo with asparagus, peppers, and chicken, along with Caesar salad and bread. dessert was homemade spice cake...mmm.

- at school, i got brownies from a semi-random girl, cookies from JPP, cookies and a sign from Danya, Muddy Buddies from Rachel, and an acrostic poem from Bree...

- and today JPP gave me a Jana Alyra VHS tape, gum, and a little racecar.

- when the day was done, i had eaten no brownies or cookies. everyone else had eaten them...but i just ate some now.

- after i went birthday shopping with my money from my grandparents. i got a coral dress from Nordstrom and a top and jeans from American Eagle.

- from my family, i got Origins stuff, my phone, and these shelves (in birch) that i have wanted for like two years!

- and i got texting!!

- i had dinner with my sister and my mom at Rudebegorz (spelling?) in Fullerton. We gave our half-eaten apple pie to the three guys sitting next to us...they totally accepted and ate it.

- so....that's it.

now rachel's birthday is on SUNDAYYY.
