Spring Break with Padre: Experience #2

i took this scenic picture myself.
One of our many exciting adventures was whale watching. We got on this gorgified boat called the Double Dolphin and voyaged out into the vast Pacific.

Our board mates:
  1. 4 German tourists- two couples who jabbered non-stop to each other in what we guessed to be German. They were all quite rambunctious.
  2. 2 tourist children and their parents- a stereotypical tourist family. Think fanny packs, windbreakers, a bulky video camera, oversized t-shirts from numerous vacation spots, and frizzy hair.
  3. 1 puking lady- this woman could not contain her seasickness. She sat in a corner with a blanket and a barf bag.
  4. 1 old couple- quite excited to whale watch. Very cute and quaint.
  5. 1 skipper and 1 tour guide- the skipper looked like the main Beach Boy, and the tour guide was a peppy, just-out-of-college whale expert.
As you can see, we had quite an ecclectic crew.

Well, we didn't see any whales, but we did come across seals!

I love the pirate boat on the background.
They were just contentedly tanning on this buoy thing. It had a bell on it, and they kept ringing it and pushing each other off.

When my dad said we were going whale watching, I was not excited whatsoever. It sounded so dull. But really, even though we didn't see any whales, it was so much fun. I highly recommend this activity-just hope for a crew like mine
.
